Observation: Jesus is instructing the Pharisees.
Application: In talking to the self-important Pharisees, I believe that Jesus relays about one of the most important truths about God, “I desire mercy, not sacrifice…” God wants our hearts changed, not our rote sacrifices.
Prayer: Father, I pray that I honor you and my Savior by my attitude. I pray that it be an attitude of grace and mercy for others. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen
