The following blog entry is compliments of Pastor Leon Hiebert, Community Care Pastor of Generations Church, Andover, KS
Scripture: You boasted against me and spoke against me without restraint, and I heard it. (Explanation: This is God speaking through His prophet.) Ezekiel 35:13
Observation: “…and I heard it…” The last four words of this scripture should strike fear into anyone speaking against God. There are no secrets from God. He knows where we are hiding and hears our whispers in the dark. He even knows our thoughts before we speak them! To plot against the Lord is the height of stupidity! There is no such thing as talking behind God’s back.
Of course, He also hears each whispered prayer! When we are too weak to cry out, or even give voice to a prayer, He knows our thoughts.
This aspect of God’s nature should strike fear into His enemies, but it should also bring great hope to His children!
Application: What a blessing to know God hears me. He is interested in what I am saying even when I do not think He is listening.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want my conversation to bring joy to your heart today. Amen.
