All of the Lord

Scripture: Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble. Daniel 4:37 NIV

Observation: King Nebuchadnezzar has just endured seven years of separation from all people and everything he esteemed. He was a proud ruler who was humbled by God.

Application: King Nebuchadnezzar was a very great ruler. An argument could be made that he had become a follower of God and yet he had become arrogant and full of himself. Over a seven year period he was shown that all he had amassed, all the power that he had and all the glory of his kingdom was given to him by God the Father. On those occasions when I become proud of what I have accomplished or what I have become personally or professionally I must remember King Nebuchadnezzar’s plight. All that I am is of the Lord.

Prayer: Father, help me to remain humble and know that all that I have and all the I am is of you. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen
