Our first enemy is the devil…
The moment we make our decision for Christ, Satan suffered a tremendous defeat. He is angry now. For the rest of our journey with Christ, the devil is going to tempt us and try to lead you into sin. He cannot rob us of our salvation, we must not let him rob us of our assurance and victory given to us by Christ. The devil will do everything in his power to sow seeds of doubt in our mind as to whether you truly are saved and whether we are living a changed life. You cannot argue with him, for he is the greatest debater of all time.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
The devil will use our feelings to distort the truth…pride is one of those feelings that be easily be twisted. As someone who God has called to share my testimony and use it to bring the hurting to Him, I must continually make Jesus my focus and get myself out the way. Every time I share my story I must clearly see and speak that it’s not my story but His story. I can take no credit for not even one moment because without Jesus I would have lost the battle.
The devil will try to discourage us, to divert us; he will seek to dilute our testimony; he will attempt anything to destroy our relationship with Christ and our influence upon others.
My devotional with a little help from Billy Graham
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13
