Jesus is God

Scripture: They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. Luke 9:31 NIV

Observation: Jesus speaks with Elijah and Moses on the mount when he is transfigured. The second half of verse 31 says, “…which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem.” Luke 9:31b Who but God could do such a thing? Who but God could bring to fulfillment God’s plan for salvation? Only God could! I believe this passage puts to rest once and for all whether or not Jesus is God. Jesus, God, spoke to Elijah and Moses on the mount just prior to allowing himself to be sacrificed for our sins and bringing to fulfillment his plan.

Application: We have only to believe in Jesus’ sacrifice and we are saved.

Prayer: Father, thank you for coming to earth as Jesus and allowing yourself to be sacrificed for me. Amen
