Influence, Don’t Be Influenced

Scripture: Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 NIV

Observation: Paul directs the church at Corinth.

Application: I have been negatively influenced and I’ve seen others be negatively influenced by corrupt company over the years. I’ve seen well-intentioned Christians associate with those of low character because they believe that they will convert them, after-all, that’s the great commission. Also, I’ve seen weak-willed Christians fall. Whether intentionally trying to influence evil to good or unintentionally falling into a relationship with lowly characters, Christian must beware! Scripture is clear. If you wallow with pigs you’re going to get muddy. Put on the full armor of God so that you influence and are not influenced.

Prayer: Father, please protect my family, my friends, and me as we go into the world. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen
