Look Up

Scripture: After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”  Acts 1:9-11 NIV

Observation: Jesus ascends into heaven.

Application: I truly believe that we are in the end times. I believe that written prophecy chronicles much of what is currently being fulfilled–wars, rumors of wars, this leader is called the messiah, that cult leader is called the savior, earthquakes abound and everywhere there seems to be hostility and strife, the list seems endless. People are searching! Often times they go right after those false Messiahs. People want a savior and they get deluded into believing lies. To me it is all so crystal clear; we just need to continue be faithful and look up! If our messiah doesn’t come down from above, heralded with loud trumpet blasts, wrapped in a cloud, he is not Jesus, he is not the Messiah and he is not to be followed. I believe that once he appears in the clouds I will meet him in the air and there will no longer be any question.

Prayer: Father, I ask that searching people find you through Jesus and stop being fooled into believing liars. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen
