What if…

Scripture: They made their hearts as hard as flint and would not listen to the law or to the words that the LORD Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. So the LORD Almighty was very angry. ‘When I called, they did not listen; so when they called, I would not listen,’ says the LORD Almighty. Zechariah 7:12 & 13

Observation: They ignored God. They closed their ears to what He was saying. Here God is saying, I only treated you the way you treated me.

Application: What if God treated me the way I have treated Him? What if God listened to my prayers as faithfully as I listen to what He has in the Bible? What if He treated visiting my house as I treat going to church? What if He treated those I have asked to pray for me the same way I have treated those He has sent my way?  On the other hand, what if I started treating God the way I want Him to treat me?

Prayer: Lord, so often I have been more interested in what I want you to do for me than what I should be doing for you. Today I want to be your servant, to hear you, and to do what pleases you. Amen.
