Encouragement

Scripture: Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:30,31 NIV

Observation: Encouraging words from Isaiah.

Application: Since last September Laurie and I have endured quite a bit of stress. Without considering the WRONG, WRONG, WRONG direction that this country has gone this year all at a time when I’m ready to retire, we’ve dealt with disease, finances (see WRONG above), mother/mother-in-law issues, college and an impending wedding just to name a few, we are worn out and pooped! God knows! That’s why he gave me this scripture today. Thank you Lord for the words of encouragement.
Starting today, for two weeks Laurie and I are traveling to Texas for a wedding engagement party, then home, and then to California for my mother-in-law to complete her housing issues. Pray for our safety, sanity and health.

Prayer: Thank you Father for encouraging me today. Help me to think back on this scripture when life becomes stressful in the coming weeks. I thank you in Jesus’ name. Amen

Doug
