This is for Cody

Scripture: “He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.  He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.  They confronted me in the day of my disaster,  but the LORD was my support.  He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.  2 Samuel 22:17-20

Observation:  David has faced many obstacles in his life. He has sinned yet the Lord has not only forgiven him but he gave him protection, direction and strength to face Satan at his fiercest.

Application:  I have had this scripture on my mind since my last post.  I knew the Lord has had it on my heart for a reason and I thought it spoke of the recent illness I faced and the family issues I now am dealing with.  I felt the Lord was reminding me of these words because they are some of my favorite and they have given me strength many times.  However, tonight the Lord gave me the reason these words have been so close that I could touch them.  Doug and I have opened our hearts to a young man, his name is Cody and this message is meant for him.   Doug and I had a strong connection to him from the first evening we spent with him.  Cody’s life has been full of sinful abuse within his family and he has been a causality for most of his life.  Jesus took hold of Cody and has begun to transform him.  Satan isn’t very happy and so the battle is on.

Cody listen to the Lord HE LOVES YOU!  HE SEES YOU AS A MIGHTY WARRIOR FOR HIS KINGDOM!!  Cody think of the armor you wear as a believer and what Christ sacrificed for YOU!  Think about your future and the race you are running to win the prize and to hear those precious word at the finish, “Well done good and faithfully servant!” Call out to the Lord for only he can rescue you from the deep waters and defeat your enemies!

Prayer:  Lord I cry out to you tonight, these scriptures are for Cody…Protect Him and defeat the enemies he faces.  Provide that spacious place where he is free to mature and know you.  His desire is to serve you with all his heart.  Lord give him the clarity to see the truth.  Lord give him the strength to run straight to you and not be distracted by Satan.  Set his feet firm on your path.  I ask all this in your name Jesus.  Amen

Laurie
