The Worst of the Worst

Scripture:  Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners–of whom I am the worst.
1 Timothy 1:15 NIV

Observation:  Paul speaks to Timothy about why Christ came to earth.

Application:  In 1 Timothy 1 Paul very humbly admits to Timothy that he was one whom was unworthy of salvation.  None-the-less, Christ came to earth for sinners just like Paul and used him mightily. Paul said, “but for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.” 1 Timothy 1:16 NIV Paul was a persecutor of the early church. He terrorized and had a hand in the deaths of Christians and yet God found him worthy to save and he used him to grow the church.  If God will use a man like Paul he will use us too, all we have to do is be open to the leading of the Spirit.

Prayer:  Father, one of your greatest Apostles was Paul he was the worst of the worst.  Lord you used him I ask in Jesus’ name that your Spirit lead me and use me too. Amen
