Scripture: If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NIV
Observation: Paul speaking on love.
Application: God wants our inside, not our outside. We have to have a Christ-like attitude to be of value to the Lord. If we tithe begrudgingly we just as well put the money back in our pockets. If we give a kind or instructive word to a “brother or sister” and then gossip it’s just lip service and of no use to the Lord. He wants us to be Christ serving not self-serving. God wants us to be truly changed on the inside. We must humble ourselves and persevere in his love. He wants us to have his love and he want us to give it away because we love him.
Prayer: Father, help me to truly want to love others because you have loved me. Amen
