Pray and Share, Share and Pray

Scripture: They disagreed among themselves and began to leave after Paul had made this final statement: “The Holy Spirit spoke the truth to your forefathers when he said through Isaiah the prophet:  ” ‘Go to this people and say, “You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.”  For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes.  Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’  Acts 28:25-27 NIV

Observation: Do you have people in your life that march to their own drum but unfortunately their drum is so out of tune and they are lost to the truth?  They refuse to let anyone help.  Their misguided convictions will end up costing them eternity. How do you deal with them and the feelings you have for them?

Application: Doug and I both have family members we love dearly but who are lost to the truth of Christ.  I must look beyond to what Paul tells me in verses 30-31 of Acts 28, “For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him.  Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.”  I can’t be limited to two years; I can’t give up!  I must pray and share, share and pray every time an opportunity presents itself.  As stubborn and misguided as some of my loved-ones may be I must be absolute in love and the knowledge necessary to help guide them to Christ!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, Creator, teach me to have your love, your tenacity to never give up!  Give me many opportunities to share you.  Help me to be persistent and don’t allow me to quit sharing for as long as it takes to make sure that those I love, who are lost, find you!  Amen
