It’s Christ

Scripture: Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary?  Who may live on your holy hill?  He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.  He who does these things will never be shaken.  Psalm 15:1-5 NIV

Observation: The Psalmist gives use a list of characteristics of heaven-bound people.

Application: That’s quite a list.  A blameless man, a righteous man, a truth teller from the heart, one who doesn’t slander, doesn’t hurt your neighbor and doesn’t verbally slur anyone.  A person who despises the vile and honors the Lord. A guy that keeps promises even when it is difficult to do it and never accepts a bribe or interest on loaned money. Yep, that’s quite a list. You might say that it’s an impossible list to get and keep…unless you have the Lord. Only through the power of the Lord are we “weak-willed” humans able to show those attributes. Those Christ-like attributes. It’s not impossible, it’s Christ.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for being perfection for me.  I can’t live the life I should based on Psalm 15 without you. Thank you providing that way for me. Amen

Doug
