Scripture: The spirit told me to have no hesitation about going with them. The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord. When he arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to stay true to the Lord with all their hearts. He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord. Acts 11: 12, 21, 23-24 NIV
Observation: So much is happening in Acts 11. The Lord tells Peter Jesus’ death on the cross and the gift of repentance and all that goes with it is for everyone. We see Gentiles (us) coming to know Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit in them. We see Peter following God’s direction without hesitation and because he did great numbers of people believed and turned to the Lord. As a result the grace of God was with him.
Application: Believing is enough for a ticket to heaven we are told. However, I have several years here on earth and the Lord has laid out a plan for me to experience His love and be a part of His plan of repairing our broken world. If I listen, seek, and don’t hesitate I will see God’s grace at work.
Prayer: Lord I am your willing servant. I know what it feels like to have your grace upon me and your Holy Spirit within me. Give me the courage to not hesitate when I feel your calling. Direct me Lord in growing your kingdom. Lord, I’m so excited to share your word with others. Teach me Holy Spirit and give me the boldness to share you with others. Amen
